A very hardy, widespread, Turkish lily. Endemic in Europe and parts of Asia. A much used lily to cross with contemporary martagon varieties. It is certainly a more robust form than any other, is much higher (120 - 150 cm) and the flowers are larger in diameter. The flowers are pink or pale pink and speckled with dark purple dots. A mature plant can show up to 10 to 15 flowers on a stem and will certainly be an eye-catcher in your garden. They like a spot in semi-shade, humus-rich soil that is well drained. Perfectly hardy and very long-lifed. As with all lilies, protect them against the Lily Beetle and fertilize on a regular base.
